The cold truth about batteries
Every electric machine loses range in the cold, and we did not hide from it — we filmed the dashboard. At minus nine, the LFP pack showed a 12 percent capacity penalty at start, recovering as the pack warmed under load. That number, displayed openly, is worth more than any marketing line we could write.
Shooting above the pass
We started an hour before dawn to catch blue hour on the ridgeline. The camera sled needed a snowmobile; the Rock Climber did not — snow mode softened the torque map until the treads bit without trenching, and it climbed past the support vehicle on the first ascent. The snowmobile crew asked for a spec sheet. We keep a stack of them for exactly this.
Why calm matters
The footage looks uneventful, and that is the entire point. On snow, drama is failure: a spinning tire is a digging tire. What you are watching is traction managed so smoothly that nothing ever happens. Calm is the feature. The pass is just where we went to prove it.
